On March 14, 2025, the official website and X (formerly known as Twitter) account for the Gachiakuta anime revealed the first teaser trailer, confirming its much-anticipated premiere date in July 2025. While details such as the exact airing date are yet to be specified, the promotional materials included insights into the principal cast and production team.
The Gachiakuta anime draws its narrative from the popular dark fantasy manga of the same name, created by Kei Urana. Since its debut in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2022, the manga has successfully published a total of 13 tankobon volumes. Notably, the animation work for the series is being handled by Bones Films, a division of the esteemed Studio Bones.

Meet the Main Cast of Gachiakuta

Aoi Ichikawa will portray Rudo, a solitary figure living amongst refuse in a place known as the Sphere, where he is under the care of his foster parent, Regto. Unfortunately, Rudo’s life takes a sinister turn when he is wrongfully accused of a crime, leading to his descent into the abyss.
Katsuyuki Konishi lends his voice to Enjin, a lively member of the Akuta Cleaners team, who recognizes Rudo’s hidden potential as a Giver and recruits him. Zanka and Riyo, who are also part of this team, will be voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Yumiri Hanamori, respectively.
