The music video adopts a nostalgic vibe, showcasing Gomez as she fantasizes about Blanco. Notably, her fiancé makes several appearances, including a whimsical portrayal of a miniature version of himself. In a whimsical twist, the video closes with Gomez seemingly taking a dramatic bite out of Blanco.

The lyrics of “Sunset Blvd” are infused with suggestive undertones. Gomez expresses a longing to embrace Blanco’s “big hard heart,”highlighted by her airy vocals. In one memorable line during the bridge, she sings:

Gomez initially announced “Sunset Blvd” via Instagram, sharing that the song honors their first date which took place on the iconic LA street. This release follows the album’s lead single, “Call Me When You Break Up,” featuring Gracie Abrams, which debuted on February 20. The duo previously teased their album with the Valentine’s Day release of “Scared of Loving You,” co-written with Finneas. The album also invites contributions from notable artists like J Balvin and Tainy.
Anticipated Album Release
I Said I Love You First is set to be released on March 21, marking Gomez’s return to album-making since 2020’s Rare, which achieved significant success by dominating Billboard’s 200 Albums chart for an impressive 26 weeks. The couple announced their engagement in December, and in a reflective interview with The Hollywood Reporter last November, Gomez shared, “This is the safest I’ve ever felt” in a relationship, emphasizing her vision for a future with Blanco.
