Anticipation builds as Genshin Impact’s Version 5.5 approaches, sparking excitement among players eager for new content. Upcoming details are set to be unveiled during a live stream dedicated to Genshin Impact 5.5. In conjunction with this, the development team has shared a comprehensive “Developer’s Discussion”post highlighting potential quality of life (QoL) enhancements and features.
One of the standout features making its debut is the highly-requested boss tracking capability. If you’re curious about this notable addition and how it will impact gameplay, read on to discover more about this and other improvements arriving in Version 5.5.
Introducing the Boss Tracking Feature in Genshin Impact

The developers have revealed that Genshin Impact will soon incorporate six new QoL features, among which is the ability to track the locations of bosses on the game’s map. This has been a top request from the community, considering the importance of defeating bosses for character progression and weapon enhancements, especially as new bosses are frequently introduced.
Prior to this upcoming update, players were required to manually explore and unlock the locations of bosses themselves, making it a time-consuming process. With Version 5.5, however, this will change dramatically.
From the launch of Genshin Impact 5.5, players will have the ability to accurately track the location of boss enemies on the map—even in areas where exploration has yet to take place. You can easily initiate boss tracking through the Adventurer’s Handbook or directly via the map interface.

To utilize this feature, click on the boss icon displayed on your map (or in the Adventurer’s Handbook) and select the “Track and Guide”option. The game will then generate a clear path leading you to the boss’s location.
If a boss is located near a Teleport Waypoint that is still locked, the path to unlock that waypoint will also be shown, guiding players to first unlock the waypoint before proceeding to the boss itself. This feature promises to alleviate the frustrations many players face when trying to reach bosses, especially those found in difficult-to-access areas or hidden within complex tunnels.
Although this exciting new feature will initially apply only to select bosses in Version 5.5, future updates are expected to expand this functionality, ensuring a smoother experience for players everywhere.
