The Twitch content creator Kai Cenat has recently faced criticism from the online community following the release of a controversial video featuring his friend, RaKai. The 28-second clip, which gained traction on social media on March 12, 2025, depicts Kai knocking on a bathroom door while RaKai, a 16-year-old influencer, is inside. Kai, a two-time recipient of the Streamer of the Year award, is heard urging RaKai to open the door, saying:
“RaKai… open it.”
RaKai’s candid response, which included strong language, was:
“N***a, I’m taking a s**t!”
Subsequently, one of Kai’s associates opened the bathroom door, revealing RaKai in a compromising position, prompting Kai to take RaKai’s phone and display it to the camera.
Public Reaction to the Incident
This footage quickly gained viral status on X (formerly Twitter), provoking strong reactions from numerous users. One user, @Jiz, described Kai’s behavior as “disgusting”and called for Nike and Twitch to take notice of the situation, even suggesting that RaKai’s mother should intervene:
“Why did Kai Cenat do this?? This is actually disgusting. I hope Nike & Twitch see this also Rakai’s mother needs to take him away from them. Have you seen this @Nike @nikestore @nikebasketball @NikeNYC @nikefootball @usnikefootball @nikelondon @nikesb @nikediamond @NikeLA”
Another user pointed out the potential implications of the incident, arguing that it sets a poor example for younger viewers about invading someone’s privacy:
“They are three grown men forcibly walking in on a 16-year-old. If scripted, they still teach kids watching that it’s okay to enter a toilet uninvited, which it isn’t.”

In a different vein, user @abusejuicex recalled a previous incident involving another content creator, Dr Disrespect, who faced a ban for similar behavior:
“Didn’t Dr Disrespect get banned for doing this exact thing but in a public bathroom?”

Defending Kai Cenat’s Actions
Conversely, many users defended Kai Cenat’s actions, interpreting his interaction with RaKai as normal among friends. One user expressed this sentiment by saying:
“This normal bro this big brother shi,”
@corteolo commented.
“This reg ny s**t stop trynna cancel my son Kai lol,”
@Rhlmv_ remarked.
Kai’s Recent Controversy Over PewDiePie
In addition to the recent backlash, Kai Cenat also stirred conversations on February 28, 2025, after sharing his thoughts regarding the popularity of YouTuber PewDiePie. In a livestream discussion with fellow creator Lil Rodney Son, Kai expressed his confusion over PewDiePie’s rise to fame:
“This may be an L take, and I apologize in advance, but I couldn’t see how ni**as got into PewDiePie, I’m sorry… I’ll be honest, that might be an L take though.”
As of now, Kai has not publicly addressed either incident while continuing to stream on his official Twitch channel.
