Alex Cooper’s Unwell Networks Ventures into Unscripted Television
Alex Cooper, the driving force behind the wildly popular podcast Call Her Daddy, is making waves with her company Unwell Networks as it broadens its horizons. The network is set to debut its first unscripted series on Hulu, tentatively titled Overboard for Love, which promises a novel twist on the dating show format.
A Unique Take on Dating Shows
The upcoming series invites viewers to join a luxurious yacht filled with eligible singles ready to connect, but with a challenging twist. The show’s logline suggests that “gaining access to the yacht’s extravagant amenities won’t be so simple.” As participants navigate the highs and lows of romance, the competition heats up, leading to unexpected alliances and heartbreaks. Ultimately, only one couple will rise to the occasion, while others may find themselves left behind.
Expansion of Unwell Networks
Since its inception in August 2023, Unwell Networks has rapidly expanded, signing notable personalities such as Alix Earle and Madeline Argy, along with Harry Jowsey, Owen Thiele, Hallie Batchelder, and Grace O’Malley. However, it is worth noting that Earle was released from the network last month, amidst the ongoing growth and evolution of Unwell.
Cooper’s Vision for Unwell

In a recent cover story with The Hollywood Reporter, Cooper elaborated on her aspirations for the Unwell brand, highlighting her ambitions to transform it into a major content powerhouse. She remarked, “It is crazy how much we’ve accomplished in just a year, from a sold-out tour across seven cities to hosting micro-events that gathered thousands of women. I want to be the biggest content creator in the world.”
Production Team Behind Overboard for Love
Cooper will serve as executive producer for Overboard for Love, alongside her husband Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre. Notable additional producers include Jeff Jenkins, Russell Jay-Staglik, and Jason Ehrlich from Jeff Jenkins Productions, along with Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans from 3BMG.
