On March 12, 2025, a new official website and X (formerly Twitter) account were launched to announce the upcoming anime adaptation of The Style of Hiroshi Nohara’s Lunch, a spin-off derived from the beloved Crayon Shin-chan manga. Audiences can expect the anime to make its debut in October 2025, with further details regarding the cast and production team unveiled in the announcement.
The manga, authored and illustrated by Yoichi Tsukahara, is a continuation of Yoshito Usui’s original Crayon Shin-chan series, shifting the spotlight to Hiroshi Nohara, Shin-chan’s father. Initially serialized in Futabasha’s Manga Town from December 2015 until 2023, it subsequently moved to the series’ official website in January 2024. As of now, the manga comprises 13 tankobon volumes.
Upcoming Anime Premiering in October 2025
The latest announcement from the official staff indicates that The Style of Hiroshi Nohara’s Lunch will air every Friday at 11 PM JST on the BS Asahi channel starting in October 2025, although a specific release date is still pending. The animation will utilize flash animation techniques.
To commemorate the adaptation, the new X account and website revealed a vibrant key visual. This artwork showcases Hiroshi Nohara standing in front of an office district filled with restaurants, dressed in his iconic outfit.
Returning to voice Hiroshi Nohara is Toshiyuki Morikawa, who reprises his role from the original Crayon Shin-chan anime. A message shared on the anime’s official platforms features Morikawa expressing excitement about exploring the nuances of Hiroshi’s daily life, focusing specifically on his lunchtime experiences.
The original manga artist, Yoichi Tsukahara, also expressed his elation about the anime project on the site, sharing that he was deeply moved by the script and the animation. He encourages fans to eagerly anticipate the series.
Directing the anime is Tsukasa Nishiyama, working alongside DLE for the flash animation in collaboration with Shin-Ei Animation. The series scripts are crafted by Hayashi Mori and Moral, while character design is entrusted to Kotaro Yamawaki. Notably, Akifumi Tada will handle the musical composition for the series.
