Michael “Shroud”Grzesiek has taken a significant step in the esports landscape by announcing the competitive roster for his newly established organization, Shroud-X, which will compete in Marvel Rivals. This update, revealed on his X account, quickly caught the attention of fans, accumulating over 285,000 views and 4,000 likes shortly after its release. This strategic move aligns with Shroud’s previous indications of interest in forming a Marvel Rivals team.
Shroud-X: The New Force in Esports
The journey to Shroud-X began during a February 2025 livestream where Shroud, during his Fragathon event, pledged to start an esports organization if he could raise one million dollars for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Following the successful fundraising endeavor, Shroud-X made its official debut in the competitive gaming scene.
Introducing the Roster
Shroud-X’s roster is comprised of talented players from the previously known team, Intergalactic, showcasing a mix of roles that reflect their competitive spirit:
- Window (Vanguard)
- Dongmin (Vanguard)
- Impuniti (Vanguard)
- Doomed (Duelist)
- VisionGMG (Duelist)
- Fidel (Strategist)
- Nuk (Strategist)
The Management Team
Shroud’s new team will be managed by Branchies, while Gator takes on the role of coach. Intergalactic has already demonstrated their capabilities, finishing as the runner-up in Rivals Fight Night #1, an invitational tournament held against Sentinels. Moreover, they clinched victory at BoomTV Proving Grounds #2 on January 18, 2025, proving their skills and potential for future tournament success. However, it is worth noting that these tournaments were classified as lower-tier events, leaving the question open of how they will perform in more competitive settings moving forward.
Competitive Landscape
At the time of Shroud’s announcement, 100 Thieves also revealed their entrance into the Marvel Rivals scene, signing players but withholding details about their roster—an indication of the increasing competition within this newly burgeoning sector of esports.
Looking Ahead
The integration of the Intergalactic roster into Shroud-X provides a fertile ground for development and success under Shroud’s leadership. Fans are keenly anticipating their performance in the upcoming Marvel Rivals Championship (MRC) series. The team is expected to compete in the second edition of the Marvel Rivals Invitational for the North American region, scheduled to begin on March 14, 2025. With Shroud at the helm, the excitement surrounding Shroud-X continues to grow.
