Denims Challenges Asmongold’s Claims About HasanAbi’s Ban
On March 11, Twitch streamer Jean “Denims”publicly criticized fellow streamer Asmongold for allegedly misrepresenting the circumstances surrounding HasanAbi’s recent suspension from the platform. Denims contended that Asmongold lacked adequate context, which resulted in the perpetuation of misleading narratives among viewers.
To provide clarity, HasanAbi was discussing potential cuts to fundamental social services such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. During this dialogue, he took aim at Senator Rick Scott, referencing his controversial leadership at Columbia/HCA, a company that faced significant penalties exceeding $1.7 billion due to Medicare billing fraud.
In an impassioned remark, HasanAbi suggested that if the concerns about Medicare fraud were genuinely held, Scott ought to face severe consequences for his actions. He later publicly apologized for his choice of “hyperbolic language”regarding Scott’s situation.
Denims asserted that Asmongold was “lying,”pointing to his failure to accurately comprehend the nuances of the situation. She emphasized that the popularity of major creators like Asmongold often means their followers may not take the time to investigate the truth behind these statements.
“Not even his editor can save this, I don’t think. Lying is OP; that’s why people like Asmongold do it. That’s why people like Ethan Klein do it because it’s OP. All you need is for your community to not care enough about the truth and seek it out.”
Asmongold’s Perspective on HasanAbi’s Comments
In Asmongold’s analysis of the topic, he claimed that HasanAbi’s so-called “call for violence”detracted from what he considered to be an otherwise robust policy argument. Asmongold stressed that such extreme calls only serve to undermine strong arguments.
“The issue is that you’re muddying the waters and you’re damaging your own argument, making yourself seem like an extremist when you actually have fundamentally a strong argument and a good policy position.”
Furthermore, Asmongold clarified that Hasan did not explicitly state that Speaker Mike Johnson should take lethal action against Senator Scott. Instead, he argued that Hasan’s use of “you”referred to the general public, rather than a direct command directed at any specific individual.
“He didn’t say ‘Mike Johnson’, he said ‘you should’ (Who was he talking to in this context?.. he’s directly responding to Mike Johnson,’ said Denims in Hasan’s defense.)
This distinction was crucial, as the comment was made during Hasan’s direct rebuttal to Mike Johnson’s position.
In related news, Asmongold has voiced his concerns about “deranged”users on social media, accusing them of contacting Child Protective Services regarding Ethan Klein’s parenting.
