In a revealing interview with People magazine on March 10, 2025, Alexe Godin, a contestant from Season 27 of The Bachelor, discussed the unexpected early conclusion of her journey with Grant Ellis. This interview followed the much-anticipated Women Tell All special, where she candidly reflected on her experience and the reasons behind her premature exit from the competition.
Although Alexe received the coveted “first impression”rose and enjoyed the privilege of the first one-on-one date with Grant, which typically signifies a competitive advantage, she expressed that this recognition may have inadvertently set her back.
“I think it did play in a disadvantage because it’s the first time meeting that person, and you’re not going to trauma-dump everything on the first [date], especially when you’re sitting on the ground at the mall,”Alexe explained.
Despite starting strong, Alexe didn’t have any additional solo dates with Grant, which hampered their ability to cultivate a deeper connection. Ultimately, she was eliminated just a week shy of the final four.

Alexe’s journey began on a high note with the first impression rose, leading to an exciting solo adventure at the Beverly Center mall in Los Angeles. The date comprised fun activities like riding motorized dogs, jumping on beds at a mattress store, creating ice cream sundaes, and even trying on wedding attire for fun photos.
“I’d like to say that it probably wouldn’t have worked out regardless, just because maybe I wasn’t what he was looking for and vice versa,” Alexe reflected during the interview.
While she cherished the lighthearted moments of the date, Alexe ultimately felt it lacked the depth needed to establish a lasting relationship with Grant.
The weeks following her initial outing proved challenging, as Alexe did not receive further opportunities for solo dates. Consequently, she felt unable to share more about her personal journey with Grant, which would have been crucial for developing their relationship.
“I wish that maybe — I don’t want to say regret because I’m a big believer everything happens for a reason — but maybe I would’ve opened up a little bit more,”she admitted.
Reflecting on Elimination and Personal Growth
As she looks back, Alexe wonders if her story would have been different had she been more vulnerable throughout the season. She emphasized the significance of self-trust and authenticity during her time on the show.
“I think it just solidifies my thing where I said the first night, I was like, ‘I sound so corny to say this: Be yourself,'”she noted.
Alexe described her personality as “weird and quirky,”a trait she believes Grant appreciated. Despite the chaotic nature of the show, she received positive feedback from friends who praised her genuine portrayal on screen.
“That’s also what my friends have told me. They’re like, ‘I love watching it because it’s like watching Alexe. Like the real Alexe that we know,'”she shared.
Though Alexe sensed that Grant had a clear preference for other contestants, she found solace in her decision to withhold certain aspects of herself, noting her tendency to overshare. This experience has taught her the importance of discretion and sharing personal stories only with those who truly matter.
