“King Jimin” – BTS Member’s Solo Single “Who” Equals “Dynamite” as Longest-Charting K-Pop Song in Hot 100 History

On March 11, 2025, the music analytics account @chartdata celebrated a significant milestone in K-pop history. BTS’s Jimin’s single, Who, not only achieved success but also made waves by becoming the longest-charting K-pop song on the Billboard Hot 100. This remarkable feat sees Jimin tie with his own group’s hit, Dynamite, from 2020.

In doing so, Jimin has made history as the first K-pop artist to hold the record for both a solo track and as part of a group, surpassing PSY’s Gangnam Style by maintaining his position on the chart for an impressive 32 weeks.

The news sent fans, known as ARMY, into a frenzy, with many expressing their excitement and admiration on social media platforms. One enthusiastic supporter referred to him as “King Jimin”on X.

“King Jimin,”commented a fan.

Comments from fans flooded in, with many highlighting the uniqueness of Jimin’s success, achieved without payola and during his military service. One fan remarked that it could take a long time for another solo artist to eclipse this record.

“The all-time longest charting solo song by a K-soloist on Billboard Hot 100 history, and it might take decades to beat it,”remarked another fan.

“Omg kingmin that’s crazy he did this with his SOLO unpromoted song this is such a huge record. No soloist has charted their solo song for more than 20 weeks, and he did it while serving his country. That’s insane! Congratulations, kingminn,”commented another fan.

“For all the haters coming, cry cry cry—your tears are my favorite drink. You’re all pressed because he did it without promo and payola, while your faves couldn’t even with support. Your tears won’t change the fact that he did it and is still charting,”wrote another fan on X.

Other fans shared their admiration, noting Jimin’s continuous record-breaking journey while serving in the army.

“Jimin is simply amazing! Even without major promotions and while he’s still in the army, he continues breaking records and winning hearts all around the world. This is dedication and talent! It’s no surprise he’s on top! He’s incredible, always!”reacted another fan.

“No one should underestimate the loyal and hardworking fan base that western artists always admire. I thank Jimin’s millions of fans who love him so much from the bottom of my heart,”said another fan on X.

“So proud of him. Literally did it without label push, radios, playlisting, and being inactive because of military service,”another fan reacted.
