Jason Segel to Receive Inaugural TV Performance of the Year Award at Napa Valley StreamFest
Jason Segel, a revered actor, writer, and producer, is set to receive the first-ever Napa Valley StreamFest TV Performance of the Year Award. This recognition comes as a testament to his outstanding portrayal alongside Harrison Ford in Apple TV+’s acclaimed dramedy, Shrinking. Segel’s remarkable performance has already earned him an Emmy nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for the show’s inaugural season, and he is currently in the running for the second season as well.
A Day of Celebration and Reflection
The award ceremony will take place at 3:30 PM on Saturday, April 26, at the Uptown Theatre, situated in the heart of Downtown Napa. During this event, Segel will engage in a career retrospective conversation with me, which will be recorded for an episode of THR’s Awards Chatter podcast. Following the discussion, Segel will be presented with this distinguished honor.
Industry Praise for Segel
According to Juliana Folk, co-founder of Napa Valley StreamFest, “Jason Segel has consistently demonstrated his ability to craft deeply human and comedic performances, and his work in Shrinking is no exception. His ability to balance humor and emotional depth has resonated with audiences and critics alike, making him the perfect recipient of this year’s TV Performance of the Year Award.”
Fearon DeWeese, another co-founder of the festival, also expressed admiration: “Jason Segel has been captivating audiences for years — whether through his heartfelt performance in Shrinking, his iconic role in How I Met Your Mother, or unforgettable films like I Love You, Man and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He has a rare gift for blending humor with genuine emotion, making us laugh, cry and connect with his characters in a way few actors can. We couldn’t be more thrilled to honor him in our inaugural year and celebrate his remarkable contributions to storytelling.”
