Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Joins Forces with Sony Pictures Television

Emmy Award-winning actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is embarking on an exciting new venture with Sony Pictures Television. Known for his roles in acclaimed projects such as Watchmen and The Trial of the Chicago 7, Abdul-Mateen’s production company, House Eleven10, has inked a first-look deal with the studio.

New Opportunities for Storytelling

Under this agreement, Abdul-Mateen is set to produce scripted drama series targeted at both streaming platforms and cable networks. The initial project arising from this collaboration is an adaptation of Ghostman, a best-selling novel by Roger Hobbs.

Creative Synergy at Sony Pictures Television

Expressing his excitement about the partnership, Abdul-Mateen stated, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Katherine [Pope], Lauren [Stein], Andrew [Plotkin], Eric [Phillips], and the excellent team at Sony Pictures Television. House Eleven10 is a place where creativity is limitless, and we could not have found a better home to share our vision of creating boundary-pushing and exciting stories.”

Andrew Plotkin, executive vice president of drama development at Sony Pictures TV, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We are thrilled to have Yahya and his production team join the Sony family. Not only is he an incredible performer, but he is also a passionate storyteller whose creativity and vision will elevate every project he touches. His dedication to bringing complex, compelling narratives to life aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering unique and impactful stories to audiences worldwide.”

A Closer Look at Ghostman

The film adaptation of Ghostman will feature Abdul-Mateen as the protagonist, a specialist in the art of making objects vanish. However, when a casino heist goes awry, leaving millions of dollars vulnerable, he has just 48 hours to rectify the situation while evading a relentless adversary who wants him dead.

House Eleven10: A Creative Playground

Founded in 2021, House Eleven10 pays tribute to Abdul-Mateen’s Oakland, California upbringing. Previously, the production company held a deal with Netflix, but this new venture with Sony signifies an exciting chapter for both the actor and the studio.

Upcoming Projects and Future Endeavors

In addition to his work at Sony, Abdul-Mateen has two highly anticipated streaming series on the horizon: Wonder Man, a Marvel and Disney+ collaboration set for a December release, and Man on Fire on Netflix, which has already wrapped filming and features him as an executive producer. His film slate also includes Emergency Contact, The Scent of Burnt Flowers, and I Helped Destroy People. The versatile actor is represented by M88, WME, and Johnson Shapiro.
