Arc System Works has officially confirmed a significant update for the Nintendo Switch version of Guilty Gear Strive, set to introduce the fan-favorite character, Queen Dizzy, at no cost. Originally released in 2021, Guilty Gear Strive has garnered popularity across multiple consoles including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The much-anticipated Switch port is slated for release in January 2025, featuring an extensive roster with 28 characters drawn from the game’s first three DLC seasons.
The character lineup in Guilty Gear Strive is notable for its diversity, showcasing some of the series’ most iconic characters like Sol Badguy and Slayer. Players will also have access to both the main story mode and an additional narrative episode known as Another Story. Although the Nintendo Switch iteration lacks the crossplay functionality seen on other consoles, it integrates rollback netcode, ensuring that players can enjoy smoother online matches. Notably, the Switch launch will also provide players the chance to gain Queen Dizzy for free as part of the fourth season update.

Queen Dizzy has long been a cherished character within the Guilty Gear franchise, having first appeared in Guilty Gear X. Her return in Strive was eagerly anticipated by fans. Known as the Queen of Vialattea, she rules alongside her husband Ky Kiske, and her regal presentation in this iteration reflects her elevated status.
Looking ahead, the second character slated for the fourth season is the returning favorite Venom, expected to arrive early in 2025. Following him will be Unika, a brand-new character anticipated to be featured in the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive anime, Dual Rulers.
