Marvel Rivals Guide: Safeguard Your Deployable Abilities and Counter Opponents’ Strategies

In Marvel Rivals, deployable abilities play a crucial role on the battlefield, allowing heroes like Peni Parker, Groot, Moon Knight, Namor, Rocket Raccoon, and Loki to leave behind powerful objects. If these deployables are not dealt with promptly, they can wreak havoc by inflicting significant damage, controlling strategic areas, or even healing opposing teams rapidly. Therefore, it is imperative to destroy enemy deployables quickly to mitigate these threats. Conversely, players utilizing these summoner abilities must focus on defending their creations to maximize effectiveness.

One of the dynamics of combat in Marvel Rivals is the challenge of distinguishing between enemy and ally deployables amidst the chaos. Typically, enemy abilities are marked in bright red, while friendly units showcase various colors, generally blue or other shades. In mirror matches, this differentiation becomes even clearer, as duplicate deployables litter the arena. Players should prioritize eliminating enemy items while setting up protections for those created by their teammates.

Strategies to Identify & Destroy Enemy Deployable Abilities in Marvel Rivals

Observe and Flank Enemy Deployables

Enemies often position their deployables in strategically vital locations such as tight corners or directly on objectives within Marvel Rivals. Powerful offensive moves, like Moon Knight’s Ancient Ankh and Peni Parker’s Bionic Spider-Nest, can severely disrupt melee characters including Wolverine and Black Panther. Ranged snipers like Black Widow and Hela are tasked with spotting and targeting these deployables before melee fighters can advance.

Moon Knight’s Ancient Ankh – A Disruptive Element

By deploying one or two Ancient Ankhs, Moon Knight can dominate the battlefield against groups of enemies. Initially, the Ankhs will draw in opponents, but their true danger arises if they are left unchecked. Moon Knight can bounce both Crescent Darts and Moon Blades off the Ankhs, resulting in repeated damage to multiple foes. If placed effectively, this ability can target any enemy with 250 health, posing a serious threat to strategic players in Marvel Rivals.

Namor’s Aquatic Dominion – Unleashing Dual Turrets

Namor has the ability to summon two Monstro Spawn that can strike from a distance of 40 meters, making them a lethal threat even to ranged characters like the Punisher and Winter Soldier. Normally, these creatures attack the nearest targets. However, if Namor employs his Trident of Neptune, they will focus intently on that specific enemy.

The main challenge is that each Monstro despawns after eight seconds, so players must act swiftly, countering their threat before turning their attention to Namor.

Peni Parker’s Bionic Spider-Nest – A Potentially Lethal Zone

Peni Parker can dominate specific areas of the Marvel Rivals map by deploying up to 10 drones from her Bionic Spider-Nest, each capable of inflicting 40 damage, summing up to a potential 400 damage. Furthermore, Parker can strategically place Arachno-Mines within the webs, dealing even more damage—upwards of 1,000—enough to eliminate most Vanguards in a single encounter.

Groot’s Walls – A Tactical Distraction

Groot offers two wall types in Marvel Rivals: Thornlash, which inflicts damage, and Ironwood, providing healing benefits. These walls only activate when Groot is nearby, making them highly effective when he can draw attention elsewhere. Notably, each wall triggers specific hit effects depending on the character, making them prime targets for cooldown reductions, particularly for heroes like Mantis and Iron Fist.

Rocket Raccoon’s BRB & CYA – Enhancing Team Performance

Rocket Raccoon stands out with his deployables, which primarily serve as team enhancements. The BRB deploys Armor Packs that add 25 health and can fully revive teammates within a 50-meter radius. His Ultimate, CYA, amplifies team capabilities even further, granting a 40% damage increase for all allies within 20 meters for a duration of 12 seconds. As a sniper, targeting CYA should be a top priority.

Loki’s Doppelgangers – Healing at Will

Loki can create two clones through his abilities, either Deception or Doppelganger, and maneuver between them using Devious Exchange. While the clones may not inflict significant damage or healing on their own, the real threat lies in their simultaneous use of Regeneration Domain—this can generate substantial healing and offer near invincibility for up to five seconds.

Effective Hiding and Defense Strategies for Your Deployables

Concealment is Key: Enemies Can’t Strike What They Can’t See

As higher-ranked players are on the lookout for deployable items, it’s essential for summoners to position their abilities cleverly. Use your abilities near sharp turns, elevated positions, or deep within enemy territory to catch opponents off guard.

Keep in mind that enemies require line of sight to attack deployables. In critical moments, selflessly positioning in front of your creations can shield them, and teaming up with allies like Magneto or Doctor Strange can further enhance their protection.

Just because deployables are primarily stationary does not mean they lack offensive potential. Many summoner abilities can be utilized while advancing on an objective, and some can even be placed on moving items. If a deployable is active at full health, players have the option to manually detonate it, allowing for quicker repositioning and a reduced cooldown.
