In December 2024, PlayStation Plus has rolled out an exciting update that brings a total of 15 fresh gaming experiences to Premium subscribers. Traditionally, Sony releases new games for both PS Plus Extra and Premium at the beginning of the month; however, this year, the schedule saw an interesting shift.
On December 10, as part of the ongoing celebration of PlayStation’s monumental 30th Anniversary, three beloved classics joined the PS Plus Premium ranks a week earlier than usual. Subscribers can revisit the nostalgia of the PS2 era with titles including Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Particularly noteworthy is the revamped trophy list for Jak and Daxter, enticing players who may have previously completed the game elsewhere to dive back in for new achievements.
Following this exciting addition, another update has enhanced the PlayStation Plus library by including 11 additional games for PS Plus Extra users, alongside one exclusive title for Premium subscribers. This latest roster features a variety of genres, ensuring something for every gamer. This substantial update is anticipated to be the final one for the PlayStation Plus service until the new year. Gamers can expect the announcement of January 2025’s free PS Plus titles on January 1, with updates released on January 7. Furthermore, players might see new PS Plus Extra and Premium titles previewed on January 15, leading to further expansions on January 21, contingent upon usual rollout practices by PlayStation.
As January approaches, a few titles will inevitably leave the PS Plus catalog. While the specific games slated for removal have yet to be unveiled, it is a standard practice that when new titles are introduced, others rotate out, which will likely apply to this month’s changes as well.
