The current iteration of the Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland event has kicked off, providing players an exciting opportunity to earn a variety of new skin rewards beyond any prior events. While players have been engaged since December 10, they will need to wait until December 19 to start unlocking these additional skins.
Since its inception in 2016, the Winter Wonderland event has become a cherished tradition within the Overwatch universe. This year’s edition marks the ninth run of this beloved seasonal celebration, having officially begun on December 10.
Key Rewards and Challenges
Following the release of Overwatch 2 Season 14, Blizzard Entertainment revealed exciting new features for Winter Wonderland 2024. Players will be able to earn three exclusive hero skins by completing a set number of games:
- Complete three games to unlock the Merry Marionette Echo Legendary skin.
- After six games, players will receive Cassidy’s festive Legendary skin, showcasing the Damage hero in a vibrant holiday sweater.
- Lastly, completing nine games rewards players with a sleek white outfit for Widowmaker.
Additional Features: Login Rewards and Gameplay Modes
In addition to the three amazing skins, players can still access the Hanzo Casual skin through ongoing Winter Wonderland challenges. This year’s event also brings new login bonuses, which include festive snowflake icons, party hats, and an adorable Darumari souvenir trinket.
The Arcade mode has expanded its offerings, bringing back three fan-favorite winter-themed brawls:
- Mei’s Snowball Offensive: A fast-paced 5v5 elimination game where each hit leads to an instant elimination.
- Mei’s Yeti Hunt: A unique 5v1 mode, where one player becomes the Yeti, tasked with collecting scattered meat to trigger a powerful frenzy.
- Freeze Flash Elimination: A creative take on freeze tag, allowing players who get frozen to thaw out and rejoin the action.
Additionally, the event marks the launch of the new Happy Holly Mercy bundle in the in-game shop, starting December 17.
