Enhancements in Car Customization
The December 2024 patch brings exciting new car customization capabilities to Cyberpunk 2077, including an enhanced version of the CrystalCoat feature initially introduced in update 2.11. This updated functionality broadens the customization options beyond Rayfield vehicles to also encompass models from Quadra, Villefort, Mizutani, and Herrera. Notably, changing a vehicle’s paint job while evading the police provides a strategic advantage in losing the player’s wanted status.
Moreover, players can now utilize the Kiroshi TwinTone feature, allowing them to scan any car within Night City to unlock its paint job for their own version of that vehicle, all for a small fee. Vehicles that support TwinTone and CrystalCoat technologies can be easily identified by a spray can icon on the Autofixer website.

This update also adds ten new cars to Autofixer, featuring various models from Mizutani and Quadra. Out of these new vehicles, two necessitate the Phantom Liberty expansion, while the other eight are accessible in the base game itself. Additionally, the Photo Mode has undergone a comprehensive overhaul, allowing for the introduction of up to three NPCs, enhanced light source controls, and more precise camera management. Players can now utilize a free drone camera, and the maximum distance for this camera has been extended. Support for custom resolution screenshots in Photo Mode is also included, although this feature is only available on PC.
The 2.2 update also introduces Kiroshi SmartFrames, enabling players to customize V’s apartment with their personal photographs. Furthermore, this patch expands character customization options, offering new eye colors, lip makeup variations, facial scars, and tattoos. CDPR also included a host of bug fixes and Easter eggs that they have chosen not to reveal ahead of time.
