In 2013, he reached the peak of his career with SBS’s “My Love from the Star” , where he portrayed the role of Do Min-joon, an alien who landed on Earth during the Joseon Dynasty, bringing fantasy romance alongside Jun Ji-hyun. Thanks to writer Park Ji-eun’s creation of Do Min-joon, Kim Soo-hyun’s portrayal led to the “Do Min-joon Syndrome” , catapulting his popularity to unprecedented levels in China and across Asia.

In 2015, Kim Soo-hyun reunited with writer Park Ji-eun in KBS 2TV’s “The Producers” . Playing the role of Baek Seung-chan, a rookie PD in the entertainment division, Kim Soo-hyun showcased a wide range of charms, from a clumsy newcomer to a romantic pure-hearted man. His delicate acting skills shone brightly, making Baek Seung-chan stand out in every moment.

And now, after nine years, they reunite. Kim Soo-hyun is meeting viewers as Baek Hyun-woo through writer Park Ji-eun’s tvN drama “Queen of Tears” . The drama depicts the dizzying crisis and miraculous rekindling of love between Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), the third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun), the son of farmers from Yongdu-ri, and their three years of marriage.

This is a character that seems ordinary but is not ordinary. Baek Hyun-woo, a man who went from being an office worker to joining a conglomerate then deciding on divorce, came to life vividly with Kim Soo-hyun’s portrayal. In particular, his portrayal of the rekindled love story with Kim Ji-won is stirring up excitement among viewers.

From alien, rookie PD to male Cinderella, working with writer Park Ji-eun has once again given wings to Kim Soo-hyun.
