How to catch Amaura in Pokemon Go
There are three different ways to encounter and catch Amaura in Pokemon Go right now:
- Wild encounter with an increased spawn rate during Weather Week
- Weather Week event research task (Catch 5 Pokémon with Weather Boost)
- One-Star Raids
Once Weather Week passes on March 18, Amaura will return to being an extremely rare wild encounter making it much more difficult to catch so be sure to catch one while it’s spawn rate is boosted.
Is Shiny Amaura available in Pokemon Go
Amaura’s shiny form is available in Pokemon Go having been first introduced during the 2023 Adventure Week event. As with all shinies, Amaura is rare but features a unique coloration that is well worth searching for.

This is what Shiny Amaura looks like.
How to evolve Amaura into Aurorus in Pokemon Go
Amaura can evolve into Aurorus with the help of 50 Candy. You’ll also need to begin the evolution process during the night or it won’t work. You can tell if it’s night by looking at the sky in the game.
Even when its spawn rate is boosted like in Weather Week, Amaura is fairly rare in Pokemon Go so make sure to use Pinap Berries before catching one to get double Candy. You can also set it as your Buddy to earn some additional Candy while walking.
