Introducing the Menace and Home Capes
The new capes, named Menace and Home, each feature distinct designs that reflect significant aspects of the upcoming film. Here’s everything you need to know about these new capes and how you can get them.
The Menace Cape
The Menace cape features a vibrant red backdrop adorned with a striking Nether portal at its center, symbolizing a pivotal scene in A Minecraft Movie. This portal marks the moment when Steve (voiced by Jack Black) first ventures into the game’s hellish realm, and it’s also the entry point through which piglins invade the Overworld in the film.
Equipping this cape while using an elytra reveals Jack Black’s pixelated face in the design, further bridging the connection between the game and the movie.
How to Obtain the Menace Cape
Mojang has partnered with TikTok to offer the Menace cape as a streaming drop reward. Players will need to follow these steps to claim their cape:
- Log into TikTok.
- Search for “Minecraft”and locate creators that are streaming live.
- Once a live stream is active, watch for a special TikTok tag in the upper-left corner.
- Wait for a gray tag featuring a three-minute countdown timer to appear.
- Engage with the stream for at least three minutes, then click on the tag to grab your unique code.
- Visit the redemption page to redeem your code.
- Your cape will be accessible in the Bedrock Edition dressing room, with availability on Java Edition to follow.
This cape can be redeemed between March 18 and April 6, 2025.
The Home Cape
The second cape, Home, features a cool blue ambiance that showcases a striking portal, signifying its crucial role in the film. This portal allows Steve (Jack Black) and his companions to transition from the real world into the Minecraft universe, symbolically linking the Overworld with reality.
Similar to the Menace cape, the Home cape displays Jack Black’s pixel art face at the back when an elytra is worn.
How to Claim the Home Cape
To obtain the Home cape, players should utilize Twitch as follows:
- Log into Twitch.
- Click the profile icon in the top-right corner to access the Drops and Rewards section.
- Navigate to the All Campaign tab to find the Minecraft Movie Home Cape Campaign.
- Click the linked Minecraft text in the description to explore active streams.
- Watch any stream for at least three minutes.
- Return to the Drops and Rewards tab, find the Minecraft Movie Home Cape Campaign, and click the redeem button.
- Ensure you sign in with your linked Microsoft account on Minecraft’s website for redemption.
- Copy the provided code and visit the Redemption page to claim your cape.
The timeframe for redeeming this cape is also set from March 18 to April 6, 2025.
